Hoshiarpur /Daljeet Ajnoha/August 11— Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ashika Jain said that following directions from the Election Commission of India, the district’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has been completed and the draft voter list will be published on August 13. Booth-level officers will hold special camps at their polling stations on August 16.
Jain congratulated voters and election staff for smoothly completing the SIR exercise in the district. She said that after the draft publication, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will run special camps on August 16, remaining present at their respective polling stations from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to receive claims and objections from electors under Forms 6, 7 and 8. Voters have been urged to visit these camps to check and verify their details in the published lists.
Any claims or objections to the draft electoral roll can be submitted through the district’s polling registration officers up to September 12. After receiving submissions, the registration officers will dispose of them by October 8, 2026, and the final electoral roll will be published on October 12, 2026.
During the SIR process, BLOs distributed tally forms for a total of 1,268,648 electors in the district and completed digitisation. Of these, 1,169,930 forms (92.22 percent) were received as hard copies and 1,487 (0.12 percent) were received online. The revision exercise also found 15,265 voters as non‑present, 48,512 as definitively relocated, 28,475 deceased, while data for 306 electors could not be collected. These lists have been made available to booth-level agents appointed by recognised political parties for information.
