Special Children’s Rights and

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/May 11 : A guardianship awareness seminar for parents of special children was held at J.S.S. Asha Kiran Special School, Jahan Khelan, in collaboration with Asha Deep Welfare Society and Atma Sukh Atma Dev Ashram, Hoshiarpur. Former MP Avinash Rai Khanna attended as the chief guest and urged society to remain aware of the rights and safety of special children.
Seminar on Guardianship
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. School Principal Shelly Sharma welcomed the guests, experts and parents, and highlighted the purpose of the seminar. She said such sessions are highly beneficial for the guardians of special children, as they provide important guidance for securing their future.
Asha Deep Welfare Society secretary Col. Gurmeet Singh explained the importance of guardianship for persons with disabilities, saying it plays a vital role in securing and protecting the future of special children.
****Expert Guidance**
Professor Col. Dr. V.K. Gautam, chairman of NCPD, New Delhi, addressed the gathering and gave detailed information on the legal and social aspects of guardianship, especially for children with intellectual disabilities. He also answered questions from parents
*present at the seminar.
Around 200 parents, including guardians of special children, parents from Atma Sukh Atma Dev Ashram, and families from Hoshiarpur district, attended the seminar.
**Donation And Felicitation
On the occasion, a cheque of Rs 11,000 was donated to the school by Navdeep Sood.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Asha Deep Welfare Society president Harbans Singh thanked the chief guest and the experts for sharing valuable information on guardianship. Special children also presented mementoes made by them to the guests.
