Hoshiarpur/ July 15/Daljeet Ajnoha : Cabinet Minister Punjab Bram Shankar Jimpa while planting saplings during the Van Mahautsav held at Van Chetna Park Bassi Old appealed to the district residents to plant maximum saplings during the monsoon season. He said that special instructions have been given by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to plant maximum number of trees in the state. He said that a target of planting 38 lakh trees in the district has been set, which will be achieved with the support of the people. Meanwhile, Mayor Surinder Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, C. F. North Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini and DFO Nalin Yadav were also present.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet Minister thanked Gram Panchayat Bassi Kurini, which has extended its full support in the construction of Van Chetna Park. He said that the village panchayat always contributes fully in implementing all the schemes of the government. Meanwhile, while planting saplings from the school children, he said that maximum saplings should be planted to save the environment. He also made the students visit the Nature Interpretation Center in Van Chetna Park. He said that besides planting plants, it is important to keep them alive by taking care of them. He said that the balance of the environment is deteriorating day by day, the main objective of which is to reduce the forest area. He said that there is a need to plant more and more plants to create environmental balance, because environmental balance is maintained with trees.
Bram Shankar Jimpa said that on today’s special day we want to convey the message to the people that how important it is to plant trees for greenery. He appealed to the people to plant saplings on their children’s birthdays and in memory of the elderly. This creates a special bond with the plant. He said that they must also take care of the plant for at least three or four years after planting. Meanwhile, the Cabinet Minister also visited the stalls set up by the Forest Department.
