A special visit was organized for elders at Rayat Bahra Education City in connection with National Senior Citizens Day. This event aimed to recognize their invaluable contribution to society and to inspire students through their experiences. During the visit, the elders explored various parts of the campus, including state-of-the-art labs, a rich library, and advanced classrooms. The event introduced the elders to new dimensions of education and offered students an opportunity to appreciate the importance of hard work and patience. The Nursing College also presented a skit in honor of the elders, which was well-received.

Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of Rayat Bahra Group, welcomed the elders and described them as the pillars of society. He said, “Our elders are the living pillars of our culture and knowledge. Students learn a great deal from their experience and wisdom. The blessings and guidance of elders are a precious heritage that helps us understand various aspects of life.”

Former Rajya Sabha MP, Avinash Rai Khanna, also shared his views, stating, “Service and respect for elders is part of our tradition. We should honor the most experienced members of our society and learn from their experiences. This visit serves as a memorable lesson for our students that the path to success in life is guided by the experiences of elders.”

Campus Director Dr. Chander Mohan highlighted the purpose of the event, noting that it aimed to make students more sensitive towards elders and to encourage them to draw inspiration from their experiences. He mentioned that the visit strengthened the feeling of respect and honor among students. Such programs not only promote dialogue between generations but also inspire the youth to become responsible citizens of society.

Manmohan Sharma, Executive Secretary of IAPPD, New Delhi, remarked that respect for the elderly is our society’s greatest heritage. He praised the Rayat Bahra Group for consistently taking unique initiatives for the respect and welfare of the elderly, which he found commendable.

Dr. Prem Talwar, Former Director of the National Institute of Family Welfare, New Delhi, addressed the audience, stating that the life of elders is a treasure trove of experience and knowledge that should be received with respect. He commended the Rayat Bahra Group for its significant contribution to promoting respect for the elderly.

Dr. Manmohan Singh, PRC, Punjab University, Chandigarh, added that elders are the backbone of our society, and respecting them is our duty. He praised the Rayat Bahra Group for its efforts in the welfare and respect of the elderly, which he considered an inspiration for society.

The elders thoroughly enjoyed the visit and expressed their happiness. They said they felt proud to be at an institution like Rayat Bahra Group, where modern education is valued alongside traditions and values. They hoped that students would learn from their experiences and understand their responsibilities towards society.

While conducting the program, Dr. Kuldeep Walia emphasized that the event demonstrated that respecting elders is not just a tradition but a necessity. Every segment of society should benefit from their wisdom and life experiences. The visit laid the foundation for a new tradition where the gap between elders and youth can be bridged, leading to the creation of a better society.

In conclusion, Campus Director Dr. Chander Mohan thanked the guests. The entire campus staff was present at the event.
