Vardhman Yarns And Threads Ltd, organized 21st Cancer Awareness and Detection and Medical Camp on 17th February at its factory premises at Focal Point Ludhiana in collaboration with” World Cancer Care”, Jalandhar. Camp was inaugurated by Mr. Jeff Pritchett, Global CEO, Elevate Textiles LLC, USA accompanied by Mr. Christopher Alt, President Global Thread Business, Elevate Textiles LLC, USA, Mr. Mattew Rogers, Global Chief Financial Officer, Elevate Textiles LLC, USA, Mr. Sanjeev Narula, Managing Director, Vardhman Yarns And Threads Ltd. and Mr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Global Ambassador, World Cancer Care Society. During this occasion, Mr. Tarun Chawla, Director (Finance & Admin), Mr. Neeraj Abbott, Director (Manufacturing & Supply Chain), Mr. Dharminder Dhillon, MD, Cancer Care Charitable Society, along with other company officials were also present. Mr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal appreciated the contribution of the company in supporting the very important and noble health initiative by organizing camps for the benefit of needy and underprivileged sections of society, especially of rural areas. He also briefed about activities of World Cancer Care by organizing such camps through ultra-modern mobile units for 5 types and cancer detection and other medical checkups. About 500 residents of surrounding areas of underprivileged part of society and associates were beneficiaries of the camp. During the camp, 20 cancer and medical and health awareness were organized and tests including Mammography, Breast scan, PAP Smear, PSA, eye testing, Blood, sugar and other medical tests were conducted. This Cancer Checkup & awareness and Medical Camp has been organized by the company under their CSR initiatives.
Mr. Jeff Pritchett, while inaugurating the camp, emphasized that the aim of this initiative is not just to provide health services to the people but to create an environment where the whole community gets sensitized about health issues and create health awareness amongst society at large.
During this function Mr. Christopher Alt said that Healthcare, besides education, keeps an important position in the development paradigm of the country & Vardhman has always been in front to support & encourage by taking initiatives under its CSR activities for such developments.
Mr. Sanjeev Narula, MD – Vardhman Yarns and Thread Ltd. further added that the company will be organizing 28 Cancer awareness and detection camps in collaboration with the World Cancer Care team under CSR till end of this financial year in the Hoshiarpur and nearby areas. Addressed during this occasion he emphasized that education and health are the basic needs of any society, and the company will keep on taking such initiatives for providing such facilities.
