Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha /July 18 : Devotees from across India and abroad gathered at Dera Sant Narayan Das, Kalran Sherpur Dhakkon, to solemnly observe the 17th death anniversary of the late Sant Amar Das. The event also commemorated the 5th death anniversary of Sant Ram Kishan and the 24th death anniversary of Sant Bibi Jwali Ram. The programme was organised by the Guru Ravidas Sadhu Sampraday Society (Regd.), Punjab, under the leadership of current gaddi-nashin Sant Ramesh Das.
Following the completion of a continuous Akhand Paath, a kirtan congregation was held in which renowned ragi jathas and saints presented Gurbani to the assembled sangat. Eminent sevadars delivered discourses and recalled the lives and teachings of the saints, and devotees offered floral tributes.
Among those present were Chairman Sant Sarvan Das Bohan, Pradhan Sant Nirmal Das Babejore, General Secretary Sant Inder Das Shekhe, Sant Sarvan Das Salemtauri,Sant Satvinder Heera (National Pradhan, All India Adi Dharam Mission), Sant Balwant Singh Dingerian, Sant Prem Das Bhuri Wale, Sant Dharmpal Shergarh, Sant Satnam Das Gazjar Mahidood, Sant Vinai Muni (Jammu), Sant Bibi Ganga Devi Maili, Sant Bibi . Nisha Devi, Sant Bibi . Sheela Devi, Sant Bibi . Indu, Sant Jagdish Billa, Sant Tahil Das Phagwara, Sant Hariom Mahilpur, Sant Manjeet Das Bichohi, Sant Kuldeep Das Bassi Maroof, Sant Bibi Kuldeep Kaur Mehna, Behan Santosh Kumari, Sant Gurmail Ram Rahimpur, Sant Santosh Das Bharta Ganeshpur, Baba Balkar Singh Badala and sevadar groups led by Premjit. The sevadars conveyed the saints’ life-stories through katha and kirtan and paid respects.
Local dignitaries who attended included Dr. Ishank Kumar, MLA from Chabbewal, and former judge and social worker Harbhajan Singh Sidhu. Amarjit Singh served as the event’s stage secretary.
Sant Ramesh Das, Sant Niranjan Das and Sant Somnath presented special honours to religious, social and political figures and other notable personalities, thanking the sangat for their participation. International attendee Duryodhan Khuttan (UK) and local leaders including Sarpanch Kuldeep Singh, sevadar Bhupinder, Tarsem Singh (ASI), Kuldeep Singh and Amarjit Sandhu were also present.
A free medical camp was organised by the Siddh Jogi Trust from Khanpur village, led by Dr J.S. Thind, Dr Prab Heer and vaidya Baljinder Ram Kharkan of Arogya Ayurvedic Clinic. The team provided health check-ups and free medicines to those in need.
Sant Baba Ramesh Das thanked the medical team, blessed them and honoured the volunteers. He urged that such teams continue to offer free medical services during religious events to serve the sangat.
