Roads, Aam Aadmi Clinic, Drinking Water, Electricity and Civic Infrastructure Receive Major Boost
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/August 02 : Continuing his mission of strengthening rural infrastructure across the Chabbewal constituency, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar recently visited Harkhowal village to review the ongoing development works and interact with residents. Addressing the villagers, he informed that development projects worth approximately ₹1.47 crore are either completed or progressing rapidly in the village, significantly improving road connectivity, healthcare, drinking water supply, electricity and other basic civic amenities.
The MLA informed that the 1.33-kilometre Harkhowal–Attowal Adda road has been completed at a cost of ₹40 lakh, providing safer and smoother connectivity for local residents and commuters. He further stated that the 1.52-kilometre Dhakkowal–Harkhowal road is being upgraded at a cost of ₹22.16 lakh, while the 1.16-kilometre Pandori Bibi–Harkhowal road is under construction with an investment of ₹20.30 lakh. The 0.70-kilometre road from Dera Harkhowal to Marnaiyan, being constructed at a cost of ₹12 lakh, is also progressing steadily and will provide easier access for devotees visiting the dera. He added that these projects will considerably strengthen road connectivity in the surrounding villages.
Dr. Ishank Kumar also informed that a new electricity transformer has been installed in the village and nearly half of the village’s electricity lines have already been replaced, resulting in a more reliable power supply. The remaining electricity lines will also be upgraded shortly. He further stated that a drinking water tubewell, installed at a cost of ₹10 lakh, is ready and will be commissioned as soon as the electricity connection is provided.
Highlighting improvements in healthcare and civic amenities, the MLA said that the Aam Aadmi Clinic, being constructed at a cost of ₹24 lakh, is progressing rapidly and will soon provide quality healthcare services to villagers at their doorstep. Besides this, 22 public benches, 44 LED street lights, and 8 road safety mirrors have already been installed for the convenience and safety of residents. Construction of streets and drains, being undertaken at a cost of ₹18 lakh, is also in progress and will further improve sanitation and civic infrastructure in the village.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ishank Kumar said, “Our goal is to ensure that no village in the Chabbewal constituency is left behind in the journey of development. Providing quality roads, healthcare, drinking water, electricity and sanitation facilities to every village remains our highest priority.”
The villagers expressed their appreciation for the development initiatives undertaken in Harkhowal and thanked the MLA for addressing long-pending demands. They expressed confidence that the completion of the remaining projects would further strengthen the village’s infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
