Apeal to devotees not to use tractor-trolleys, trucks and other heavy vehicles
– It is mandatory to take permission from the concerned SDM for langar and loudspeakers/ Deputy Commissioner
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/March 07 : Senior journalist Daljeet Ajnoha had a special conversation with Deputy Commissioner Madam Ashika Jain regarding the arrangements of Maidi Mela, during which she told that the devotees of Hoshiarpur going to Maidi Mela in Himachal Pradesh will not be allowed to face any kind of inconvenience. Special arrangements are being ensured by the district administration for the convenience of the devotees.
She told that Dera Baba Badbhaag Singh Holi Mela has started today in village Maidi of Tehsil Amb, District Una, Himachal Pradesh and will continue till March 17. A large number of devotees from Punjab go to this fair, in view of which appropriate arrangements are being made by the Hoshiarpur district administration.
The Deputy Commissioner said that since a large number of devotees visit the fair, special attention is being paid to traffic management. She directed the police department to keep its teams active 24 hours a day to maintain smooth traffic system on all routes leading to Una, so that the devotees do not face any kind of trouble.
She appealed to the devotees not to travel in tractor-trolleys, trucks, canters and other heavy vehicles, as such vehicles can cause accidents.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Regional Transport Officer to ensure strict checking of heavy vehicles and action against overloaded vehicles. She said that devotees should not use such vehicles to avoid any inconvenience.
She said that it would be mandatory to take permission from the concerned SDM for setting up langar and using loudspeakers. Langar organizers were instructed to set up the langar place away from the main road, so that traffic is not obstructed. She also appealed not to use single-use plastic for langar. She informed that necessary guidelines have been issued to Municipal Corporation, Public Health, Health Department, Pollution Control Department, Animal Husbandry Department, Public Works Department, Power Corporation and Roadways Department and also the District Police has been directed to prepare a special route plan for the devotees so that the devotees do not face any traffic related problems.
