Distributed ration kits to beneficiaries in ward number 21 & 26
Says scheme a historic welfare endeavour of Bhagwant Mann Government
40 lakh families across Punjab to be benefitted
Hoshia rpur/May 22/Daljeet Ajnoha : MLA Bram Shanker Jimpa has unveiled the distribution of ration kits here in ward no 21 and 26 under Punjab Government’s ‘Meri Rasoi’ yojana terming this initiative a historic welfare measure to benefit nearly 40 lakh families across the state.
While distributing ration kits to the beneficiaries, MLA Bram Shanker Jimpa said that the scheme would prove to be a boon for beneficiaries thus reducing their kitchens’ financial burden. He said that kits would contain 2 kg dal, 2 kg sugar, 1 kg salt, 200 grams turmeric and one litre mustard oil, which would be provided to the families quarterly. Besides the ‘Meri Rasoi’ scheme, the Aam Aadmi Party Government is also extending the benefits of several other public welfare initiatves, said Jimpa adding that Punjab Government was providing free electricity, quality health services, higher education and women welfare schemes in larger public interest.
MLA Bram Shanker Jimpa said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government was continuously making efforts to reduce the financial burden of the people by ensuring welfare measures for each strata of the society. He said that currently about 90 percent of the households in Punjab are getting zero electricity bills, which is helping the families saving money and manage household expenses. He said that more than 2.20 lakh families in the district will get the benefit of Meri Rasoi scheme. Punjab government has set aside Rs. 900 crore under the scheme so that beneficiaries across the state could be provided with nutritious ration kits every quarter, he added.
On this occasion, MLA Jimpa also interacted with the needy families who praised this scheme of the Punjab government describing that the ‘Meri Rasoi’ scheme will reduce their cooking expenses. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Mayor Surinder Kumar, Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Manjot Kaur, Harminder Singh Gopi, Harvinder Singh Harry, Satwant Singh Sian, Kulvinder Singh Hundal and others.
