‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’-Drug peddlers to be dealt with heavy hand
Receives orders to freeze property worth over Rs 38 lakh of a person facing NDPS cases

Under Punjab Government’s ongoing campaign ‘Yudh Nasheyan Virudh’, SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik today inspected inter-state nakas in the district. Along with police officers, he reached at Manguwal inter-state naka to review checking under Punjab Police state wide operation SEAL-9. Malik says requisite police personnel have deployed at all 11 interstate check posts equipped with CCTV cameras so as to keep a close tap on any illegal activity especially movement of contraband, drugs and criminals exiting the state after committing crime. Hoshiarpur police has received orders from competent authority to freeze the property, worth over Rs. 38 lakh, of a person namely Satpal of Gardhiwala indulged in drug peddling, said Malik adding that Satpal has been facing the NDPS cases. Already property of drug peddlers worth more than Rs. 25 crores has been frozen in the district. In 2025 alone, as many as 80 FIRs have been registered, 102 accused arrested leading to massive recoveries. Giving warning to drug peddlers that they will be dealt with heavy hand, Malik said those indulged in drug peddling would not be spared at any cost.
