Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab celebrated Janmashtami with great zeal and enthusiasm by organizing a vibrant Matki Phod Competition at campus
The celebration was organized by the Kaleidoscope Cultural Club (USET) in association with CREST, with support from LTSU Management.
Coordinator Sukhwinder Kaur said event was graced by the Chancellor Mr. Nirmal Singh Rayat, in the presence of Dr. A.S. Chawla, Vice Chancellor; Dr. B.S. Satyal, Pro Vice Chancellor; Mr. Vimal Manhotra, Chief Executive Officer; Dr. H.P.S. Dhami, Executive Dean; Ms. Meenakshi Sharma, HoD and Deans of various Schools.
Hon’ble Chancellor, LTSU extended his heartfelt greetings to all students, faculty and staff. In his message, he said, “Janmashtami teaches us the timeless values of truth, courage and duty as exemplified by Lord Krishna. I am delighted to see our students celebrating our cultural heritage with such enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship through Matki Phod. Such festivals unite us and instill values that go beyond classrooms.”
Four teams participated in the Matki Phod Competition.
In the Boys’ category, Shaurya Sena, led by Shivam Kumar , emerged as the winner and was awarded the Winner’s Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000. Govind Sena, led by Vishwa Pratap Rana , secured the Runner-up position with a cash prize of Rs. 1,100.
In the Girls’ category, Life Saviours, led by Sneha , emerged as the winner and received the Winner’s Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 4,000. Team Radhe, led by Bhavika, secured the Runner-up position with a cash prize of Rs. 1,100.
The celebration was further enriched by vibrant cultural performances. Energetic dance performances by Ishrat, Ankita and Deepika Yadav and soulful singing by Vaasu captivated the audience. A special attraction was the Krishna Leela presentation by Kaveri and her team, which beautifully showcased the devotional and cultural spirit of Janmashtami.
