According to information received, 28-year-old Ukail alias Rahul, son of Shankar Yadav and a resident of Bihar, who worked at Paldi adda, ended his life early on Monday morning by hanging himself from a ceiling fan. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Rahul, who was employed as a laborer at Pammi Sweet Shop and slept in the shop’s rooftop (chaubara) had been working there for about six to seven years and had returned from Bihar roughly ten days ago, shop owner Paramjit Singh told reporters. At around 6:30 a.m., when the shop owner’s son called out to open the shop and received no response, he went up to the rooftop chaubara and found Rahul hanging from the fan.
The village panchayat and the Mahilpur police station were informed immediately. Inspector Ramandeep Kaur of Mahilpur police said the body was taken into custody and sent to Civil Hospital Garhshankar for post-mortem. The deceased’s family members were notified via his mobile phone; further legal procedures will follow once they arrive.
